My practise explores the composition of constructed hybrid objects. I work across medium to create installation works which revolve around a unifying concern.
The work engages with the uncanny nature of objects within new configurations to create fetish curios – the intention of which is to open up the possibility of constructing new narratives.
My theoretical interests lie with the research of Freud in regard to inhibition, order repression and the unspoken. I reference the fragmented body through choice of materials. The tongue and teeth a direct reference to the mouth as a site of communication.
This installation ‘For the Sake of the Species’ is presented in an anthropological context, mind the works shown as remnants from a civilization that no longer exists.
It is my intention to make works that could be interpreted in a broader sense as a comment on current social issues.
